If you’ve been keeping up, I’ve posted a news article every month about firearms sales based on the NSSF-adjusted NICS numbers. As you know, that number has been dropping each month. It’s even more discouraging when you compare it to the 2024 numbers. While this might seem bleak, it’s actually the best time for people wanting to buy new guns. Unlike 2020, when prices for both firearms and ammo skyrocketed, manufacturers are now trying to make sales by any means possible. The most popular method is through rebates. Luckily, we’re not in the days when rebates had to be mailed in physically; now most can be done online. However, many manufacturers tend to make the process overly complicated (after 13 years working in and running the largest FFLs in Ohio, I understand how much of a hassle rebates can be). Actually, almost all companies go through a third party to set up rebates.
A Worthy Rebate
As you can probably summarize, I hate rebates. They are a cheap and easy way for manufacturers to create the illusion of a sale. Typically, the goal is for people to forget to fill them out, thereby giving companies a higher profit margin. However, one of my favorite firearm manufacturers, Shadow Systems, is offering a rebate that is actually legitimate and benefits you, the consumer.
For September, Shadow Systems is offering $75 cash back on any CR Elite model. That escalates to $100 on any MR/XR/DR Elite model. But wait, there’s more (in a catchy infomercial voice). Along with the rebates, customers will also get a one-time discount of 20% on any accessories, parts, magazines, or gear bought online at www.shadowsystemscorp.com between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2025. While not shown on the Shadow System Website, this is reported by the Dealer Wire.

The Catch?
I hate to disappoint, but there really isn’t one. The only exclusion is the Foundation line of budget pistols. Yes, the rebate even includes the War Poet series, for all you John Lovell fanatics (I’m one as well). Also, the submission process is straightforward. Fill out your info, add the retailer name and sales info, add the serial number, then upload a picture of the receipt and pistol serial number. It is that easy (thankfully).
Zooming Out
As mentioned above, I am a big Shadow Systems fan. I have thousands of rounds through two models—a MR920 Elite and a DR920P. Both are excellent, and I’ve never had an issue. They are what Glock should have been building. That’s why it’s nice to see Shadow System offer a rebate that’s simple and provides good value.
