New Fall/Winter Danner N45 GTX Waterproof Hiking Boots
Known for its versatility, the original N45 made waves for being Danner’s first recraftable breathable hiker, meaning when you wear out the Vibram® Megagrip outsole, run down the EnduroFoam midsole or need a general refurbish, Danner has you covered. In this regard, nothing has changed—the recraftable N45 (Low and Mid) GTX is poised to uphold its status as your favorite hiker season after season.
The new Danner N45 Low GTX ($220) and N45 Mid GTX ($250), available in both men’s and women’s sizing, can now be found at Danner.com and their select outdoor retailers and dealers. Featuring recraftable design, lightweight yet rugged uppers, and GORE-TEX Invisible Fit waterproof protection, these boots are built to handle everything from damp day hikes to multi-day treks deep in the backcountry. Striking the right blend of comfort, durability, and all-weather performance, the N45 lends itself equally to casual hikers seeking dependable footwear or even hardcore hikers looking for a new pair of treads.
Building on this foundation, both new versions add a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit liner to keep your feet dry, comfortable and always on the move. This Invisible Fit liner bonds directly to the abrasion-resistant, polyester/nylon blend upper, offering the fit, feel and flexibility you’ve come to know in your non-protected shoes but in a fully waterproof package. Borrowing from its predecessor, both versions also include the nitrogen-infused EnduroFoam midsole, a shock-absorbing supercritical foam that provides superior energy return on the trail—something you’ll appreciate as the miles stack up. Additionally, both styles’ TPU rock plate increases stability and provides protection against rough, uneven terrain—altogether, your only limitation is the early winter sunset.
Need a bit more protection on the trail? The N45 Mid GTX delivers extended coverage above the foot, shielding you from water, wind and unexpected trail snags with its open-cell foam padded ankle. At just 3oz more, it keeps you light, fast and agile in a mid-height design.
