The upcoming rooftop tent is offered in both a full-size and a single-person configuration. At first glance, it resembles a clamshell-style tent, but the opening mechanism sets it apart. Instead of a single hinge angle, the tent articulates open using two distinct angles. This design increases usable headroom inside the tent without expanding the overall footprint when closed. On the floor, the difference was immediately noticeable—standing or sitting upright felt less constrained than in traditional clamshell designs of similar size. The result is a tent that maintains a low-profile travel position while offering more livable interior space once deployed.

Later in the year, Intrepid Camp Gear plans to release a new rooftop storage case that builds on its existing aluminum cases but shifts materials and dimensions. The new case features a composite body paired with an aluminum top plate, a departure from the company’s current all-aluminum construction. This change is aimed at improving weight efficiency while maintaining durability where it matters most—on the top surface, where accessories and gear are often mounted.

One of the most practical updates is the case’s shorter overall length. This redesign allows it to fit more comfortably on midsize trucks, either in a sagittal (front-to-back) or transverse (side-to-side) orientation. That flexibility opens up more mounting options for users working with limited roof real estate or balancing multiple accessories. The case is heavily configurable, with numerous mounting points designed to support rooftop gear, recovery tools, or other vehicle-mounted equipment. Intrepid also confirmed that the new case will be available in a wider range of colors compared to its current offerings.

Taken together, these updates reflect a clear focus on compatibility and adaptability. Rather than reinventing their platform, Intrepid Camp Gear appears to be refining it—adjusting materials, proportions, and mechanisms to better suit modern trucks and varied overland setups.
