Tough and comfortable belts don’t exist, unless you want to spend a fortune. That might have been the case, but not anymore. I’ve been wearing the ARCADE Hardware Alu utility belt for several months, and it quickly became one of my three favorite belts to wear while working in the yard, for EDC, and farm work. I’ll tell you why in this ARCADE Hardware Alu belt review.
Specs & Core Features
- Width: Standard (1.5”)
- Length: Standard (30” – 40”) and Long (38” – 50”)
- Colors: Black, Charcoal, Coyote, and Olive
- Materials: Aircraft-quality aluminum buckle and 85% post-consumer recycled REPREVE polyester and 15% rubber webbing
Fit & Comfort
The Hardware Alu is less stretchy and more sturdy than the Atlas, so it’s a little less comfortable, especially while sitting for extended periods, but it’s by no means uncomfortable while out and about.
It does have some stretch to it and is easily adjustable, so you can ensure a snug fit throughout the day. My pants don’t budge when I’m wearing this belt, even if I’m concealed carrying my S&W Shield.

Buckle Design & Usability

This belt has quickly become my favorite to wear. The unique metal buckle design makes it look a little more rugged and reminds me of some of my inflatable fishing kayak straps, which I’m very fond of (kayak fishing that is). The buckle is quick to latch and stays secure until I release it. I haven’t had any problems with it up to this point.

Rigidity & Load-Bearing Capability
I wear this belt when I need one sturdy enough to secure my holster or tools, yet still be comfortable. It’s the ideal belt for working. If I still worked at the coal mine and rock quarry, the ARCADE Hardware Alu would be around my waist every day, whether I was running a frontend loader or helping the mechanics fix a broken machine.

Adjustability & Fit Options
There are multiple ways to adjust the belt, from the slip loop on the buckle to the three loops connecting the ends. This design ensures you get a belt that perfectly fits you, unlike a traditional leather belt with holes that may be too big or too small and force you to punch another hole.

Durability & Materials

After wearing this belt for yard work, farm chores, and around town for several months, I can confidently say it’s very durable. It doesn’t show any signs of fraying and still looks new. ARCADE reinforced where the loops attach, an area that’s more likely to quickly wear out, so I have no doubts I’ll be wearing this belt as my EDC and yard work for years.

Versatility & Everyday Use
The Hardware Alu is a work or utility belt, so unless you don’t mind looking like you just stepped out of the woods or off the jobsite (I definitely don’t), it’s not a belt to wear on a date or to church. The color options are much more limited than the ARCADE Atlas, but all the colors are right up my alley as an outdoorsman.
It definitely has a tactical look, so it fits in when I use it while concealed carrying. However, it is stylish enough not to draw too much attention when I don’t have my holster or EDC gear attached.

7/10
Value & Competition
The ARCADE Hardware Alu is priced within nearly every budget at $50, and it’s worth every penny. While it’s not as sturdy as a duty belt, it’s still strong enough to support my pants and a holster, but it still offers some stretch after a big meal. You won’t have to buy multiple belts for every activity you partake in, but at this price, you’re more than able to and still have money left over.

Overall Rating: ARCADE Hardware Alu Belt Review
Because of the metal buckle and increased stiffness, I won’t be wearing the Hardware Alu while traveling, but I’ll pack it in my bag on hiking and hunting trips. It’ll be wrapped around my waist each time I step out the door with my pistol and spare mags because I find it just sturdy enough yet comfortable, and it goes well with my country boy look.
