I’m the guy who, once I find a good piece of clothing, I’ll probably only wear that one thing for the next year as much as possible. Back in 2020, I found the Kuhl Spekter Hoody, and it has been one of those articles of clothing I bring on every trip if needed. I’m always interested in gear that will last the test of time and be something I can use for years. This philosophy appeals to me as I’m currently trying to trim down my overall gear and clothing collection to just what I need. Enter the Flint and Tinder 10-Year Pullover Hoodie, a quality garment that is designed to last, yup, you guessed it, 10 years.

The Flint and Tinder 10-Year Pullover Hoodie was provided by Huckberry for this review, and while I am allowed to keep this jacket after the conclusion of this review, this will not change my opinion on any of their current or future products. I have been wearing the Flint and Tinder 10-Year Hoodie for the better part of a year at this point. It has been a great casual layer for jogging on cooler days, camping trips where I know the temps will be a bit lower, or just for a night in watching a movie on the couch.
Brief History of Huckberry/Flint and Tinder

Flint and Tinder is a premium American clothing brand known for its quality craftsmanship and durable, timeless designs. Founded in 2012 by Jake Bronstein, the brand began as a Kickstarter campaign focused on creating well-made, American-manufactured underwear. Its ethos is rooted in sustainability, supporting quality domestic and foreign manufacturing, and crafting products that last. Flint and Tinder quickly expanded its range to include jeans, jackets, and other wardrobe essentials, earning a reputation for rugged, reliable apparel with a touch of classic style. Now a part of Huckberry, a retailer specializing in adventure-ready gear, Flint and Tinder continue to champion quality craftsmanship while catering to customers who value authenticity, functionality, and design.

Aesthetics – Flint and Tinder 10-Year Pullover Hoodie

Like everything Flint and Tinder makes, this hoodie looks great. I personally hate wearing a sweatshirt that is huge on me, and the size Medium was a perfect fit for me. For reference, I’m 5 feet 9” with an athletic build, and I usually have to get my jackets and hoodies in size M for the most part. With there being zero branding on this hoodie, it makes it perfect for pretty much any occasion you feel you need it for. The bronze drawstring holes add a nice touch of quality. I removed the Drawstring cords as I’m not a fan of them on any hoodie I wear, so if you’re wondering where they are in my pictures, that’s why. The color “Forest Green” is also rich and has kept its color over multiple washes at this point.
Functionality – Flint and Tinder 10-Year Pullover Hoodie

This hoodie does pretty much everything you would expect it to do. It keeps you warm on cooler days and is the best thing to reach for when you have to let the dog out at 3 am on a chilly, fall Saturday morning. As mentioned before, the fit is not what I would call slim, but certainly not bulky. It’s pretty much in that sweet spot for fit, in my opinion, and while this also looks good, it helps your body retain more heat when layering up for colder outings.

The 10 Year hoodie is built from a 13.5 oz fleece, making it feel pretty burly, like something you might wear while chopping wood on a chilly spring morning. It’s also pretty heavy, coming in at nearly 2 lbs. From the moment I picked it up, I could tell this was a well-built garment. The Hoodie comes with a hood, obviously, and a nice kangaroo pocket to keep your hands warm or hold your house keys. Another bonus is that it’s great for camping and can be used as a make-shift pillow if you forgot yours at the house, don’t ask me how I know.
Will it Last 10 years? Flint and Tinder 10-Year Pullover Hoodie

While I can’t personally say it will last 10 years, as I don’t have that data yet, I’m confident in saying I think it should last that long with no issues. If we look at the specs in terms of long-term performance and durability, this hoodie is engineered to withstand years of rigorous use, backed by a robust 10-year mending guarantee that covers free repairs for tears, rips, or seam splits, ensuring it evolves into an heirloom piece rather than a disposable layer. The heavier fabric weight and reinforced twill seams contribute to its resilience, holding shape and color through countless cold washes and low-heat dries with minimal pilling or fading, even after heavy rotation in multiple conditions from chilly campsites to urban commutes. The polyester infusion boosts moisture-wicking and wind resistance, performing reliably as a thermal mid-layer under jackets in cooler temps.

Wrap Up – Flint and Tinder 10-Year Pullover Hoodie

So what are my final thoughts after a year of using the Flint and Tinder 10 Year Hoodie? I love this Hoodie and I love that it’s a piece I can keep using for many years to come. It’s very well made and crafted right here in the good old USA. While it does come in at a steep price of $138, if you break down the math, that’s less than $14 a year if you do wear it for 10 seasons. I think that’s pretty good value in the end. The only kind of person I would not recommend this hoodie to is a frequent lightweight traveler, as this hoodie takes up a lot of space in a bag when not being used. If you have been on the fence in the past about picking up the Flint and Tinder 10-Year Hoodie, don’t hesitate; it will serve you well for years to come.
