There’s a certain charm to wood stocks that transports us to simpler days when camo was just flannel and deer camp was all about creating memories and sharing stories. For many, hunting isn’t just a sport; it’s a tradition—connecting us to our history, honoring those who came before, and passing down values to future generations. In this spirit, MDT is proud to introduce the TIMBR Core line of wood stocks.

THE TIMBR CORE
“It did take us quite a while. We did an incredible amount of work on look, feel, and ergonomics, making sure this was the absolute best wooden stock we could produce,” states MDT CEO Maarten Van Ruitenburg. “So with that, we developed the TIMBR Core.”
For astute readers, you may remember a version of the Timbr from a few years back. That iteration was built from laminated wood. However, it didn’t meet the excruciating standards of MDT, and the project was shelved. In the years since, MDT has returned to the drawing board and rebuilt the Timbr into a pure wood stock that embodies the ethos of the modern shooter.
The TIMBR Core is more than a stock—it’s a shooting system carefully crafted to provide shooters with the same quality and accuracy potential as any other in the MDT lineup. To achieve this, MDT uses a V-block bedding system, the same system employed in other MDT chassis. Additionally, users can enjoy AICS magazines by adding the Core Bottom Metal.

“By marrying the v-block system into a performance product with wood, you’re actually getting the best of both worlds,” adds MDT Team Shooter Francis Colon. “Something that looks equally aesthetic at home in a field, as it is in performance with the best of the best in the competition setting.”
Zooming Out
With the introduction of the TIMBR Core, MDT is expanding its product lineup into new areas. They are focusing on products that appeal to all types of shooters and hunters. “It’s exciting to see a trend back to wood stock and classic furniture. Companies such as Woox and Boyd have been at the forefront of this movement. It’s good to see MDT adding their take to the mix. Initial inlets are available for the Ruger American SA and Tikka T3/T3x. Pricing is $499.99 for the stock and an additional $150 for the bottom metal.
