Previously only available in .45 Colt/.410 bore, the Brawler platform is characterized by its minimalist break-action design, integrated Picatinny rail, and utilitarian approach to firearm construction. The new caliber options represent a significant shift toward modern centerfire rifle cartridges commonly used in semi-automatic platforms.
The NEW Brawler – Features
- Break-action, hammer-fired operation
- Single-action trigger mechanism
- Cross-bolt safety system
- Threaded barrel for accessories
- Heavy-duty rubber grip
- Top-mounted Picatinny rail for optics
- Black oxide finish
According to Grant Nasser, Marketing Manager at Rossi USA, “The Brawler was already the go-to single-shot for hard-use simplicity and adaptability. Now, with 5.56 and .300 Blackout options, we’re giving shooters more ways to customize their setup, without sacrificing the durability or dependability that already made the Brawler a hit.”
The adoption of 5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout chamberings aligns with current market trends toward ammunition compatibility with AR-15 pattern rifles. This compatibility potentially allows users to standardize ammunition between their primary and backup firearms.
Single-shot firearms like the Brawler typically serve niche roles in the firearms market, often positioned as utility guns for specialized applications. Common uses include vehicle storage, backpacking, survival situations, or as introductory firearms for new shooters. The simplicity of operation and limited parts count generally contribute to high reliability and ease of maintenance.
Rossi USA, a division of BrazTech International, traces its history back to 1889 when Amadeo Rossi founded the company. Now operating as part of Taurus Holdings, the brand continues to focus on affordable firearms with straightforward designs.
The company has not yet released specific information regarding pricing or availability for the new models.
